Josh Kline
(b. 1979)
3D-printing, short-form content, deepfake videos, productivity drugs, and genetically modified diseases––such uncanny technologies of the 21st century are the materials of Josh Kline’s artwork. His installations, videos, and sculptures explore the workings of class, labor, politics, and subjecthood in the context of climate change, automation, and global epidemics. Kline presents visions of a world in dysbiosis, a term he has used to describe the inequities and imbalances of the New York art world where he forged his career.
